Fifteen finjals for Hnaif, I spilled -
If his stomach a sack, ti's filled -
Lest you think, from your dallah, I drank
That water-bland taste, to be frank!
عجبي على حرفين
قد سلبا وقاري
حاءٌ حريقٌ
و باءٌ بِتّ في نارِ
A couple of letters bewildered me
And put me in shame -
An 'H', for Hell,
And a 'B'; Beheld in flame
بلاها ارجوك هالجيّات
ترى فيها تعذبني
تجي قصدك تطفّي النار
و انت فيها تحرقني
Cease, I beg, the wiles and games;
It is what tortures me, for granted -

when, it is in them, I am incinerated
يا قليبي سل و ذوب وِنّ و تفطّر
و اجري دمع يا عين و جفنج أحمر
